Amara buzzed and walked into the captain's office. They had not had a moment to sit down and talk yet and they were expecting Lieutenant Drevas at any minute.

“Commander Solari.” Amara identified herself. “I just came on board and came straight here, I apologize our ride was delayed.”
She heard the buzzer behind her.

Punctuality and promptness was, and always had been, a virtue to Drevas - moreso for first meetings such as this one. A good working relationship started with a good first impression, after all. He'd come straight from his new office as soon as the comms came through; he nodded to all present as he stepped through the door. "Captain. Commander." He greeted.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, is not customary to report to the Captain?" Melora called out with a warm smile. Melora said wandering why they did not report to the Captain.

“Commander Solari, reporting for duty, Captain.” Amara said,
Coming to attention in front of the captain. She couldn’t believe she hadn’t reported. It was a rookie mistake.

Drevas too did the same. "Lieutenant Drevas, reporting for duty, sir."

"Now thats out of the way, sit down please. Can I get either of you a beverage?" Melora said with a big warm grin on her face.

"Iced fredalia tea, no sugar." Drevas replied as he sat down in front of the two senior officers.

Yadira walk's in with several PADD's in her hand. "Excuse me for being late but I had a small crisis that needed my mediation skills. Morning, Captain, Captain, Lieutenant, "she said as she sat down at the table.

"That is going to take some time to get use too." Melora said with a big grin on her face. She was not use to the fact of having more than one captain on a ship. It was uncommon, but not unheard of.

"You are quite right, however since this ship is the flagship of Star Fleet Strategic and Covert Operations in the area we are slated to go to. I think they really wanted the best of the best to fly the flagship, "she stated.

"This ship is unique, to say the least." Melora said with a smile. She was trying to demonstrate confidence, but deep down she was nervous, but she was burying her insecurities. Someone reason unknown to her, they placed her in command over two highly decorated captains. The third captain she choose to be her first officer.

Amara waited for a break in the conversation and spoke. "I would like a glass of water please." She said quietly. "Thank you."

"I'm sorry Amara, how is the family doing?" Melora asked with a big warm smile on her face. She was so happy that Amara accepted her offer.

“Good.” Amara said with a smile. “Happy to be here, as am I.” She was grateful to be here.

Drevas didn't have much of a family left, really. Ever since his parents had disappeared all he'd been left with was his aunt, mostly. He kept quiet as the others talked; clearly they weren't quite ready to get down to formal business just yet.

"They are super excited, they are already pestering me for a full tour." Melora said, as she looked over to Drevas. "I'm sorry Lieutenant. We are here to meet with you." Melora said as she did her best to reshift her attention onto him.

"Of course." Drevas glanced between the three captains. What a weird arrangement for this ship's top three appointment holders. "How may I be of assistance?"

"I was hoping to get to know you a little better, I know my first officer already. I would like the opportunity to get to know you. What's something you can tell me that's not in your service file." Melora ask him, hoping to open up a dialogue between them.

"Well. I once achieved second place in a chess competition when I was fourteen." Drevas replied. "Though I have to attribute my success to my mentor at the time - he was one of my home vessel's quartermasters. He had me practise daily while my parents were on duty."

Melora thought to herself that was an interesting conversation starter. She was curious to learn more. With a tone of curiosity she asked him. "Did you continue to play chess?"

"I did, and I presently still do, casually." Drevas replied. "I consider it a mind-training exercise, if anything. I believe it trains patience and strategic thinking like no other."

“I played chess when I was younger.” Amara said with a smile. “I was not very good at it, it didn’t hold my attention.” She paused. “I ended up playing a Betazoid version of soccer.”

"Perhaps we should organize a chess night on the ship." Melora stated. She like the idea of playing chess together, she was looking for ways to get the crew to interact with one another.

"I was never any good at chess. I have played it and I would like to learn more of it."

"I believe that might be doable." Drevas reckoned. Such events were not in his wheelhouse, however, and he knew that well enough. "I would be pleased to participate if and when it happens."

“Count me in.” Amara said with a smile. She might not be the best player but she would do her best.

"Chess is a great game of strategy, I believe every security officer should be well reversed in the intricacies of chess. It demonstrates ability for strategies. As a tactical as security officer you need to be able to not only see the move currently but two or three moves ahead." Melora suggested to her security officers.

“Let me know when.” Amara replied. “I will be there.”

"Friendly competition, I like that." Melora said with a big grin on her face. "It will give us a chance to get to know each other."

“A good way.” Amara added. She thought it was a terrific idea.”I look forward to it.”

"Mister Drevas, I'd like you to over see this project." Melora told her new chief of security. She wanted to test his ability as a leader, and see what his team could do. Granted they were new but she had faith in them.

Watching them head out, Yadira smiled and turned her thoughts towards Kerr and her plans for them later.
