The 'Eagle continues.
Location: Recreation Room
Timeline: MD001 0845 hrs
USS Intrepid, Recreation Room
Elijah walked into the recreation room, he had just completed his day of work and he remembered the staff meeting that he had earlier with the captain. It was strange to serve under a captain Solwick. He heard stories about the legendary Finchey Kerr and Yadira Tristen of the USS Blackeagle. He had been reviewing his mission perimeters.
The ship was going to play a crucial role near the Federation-Romulan Boarder. He was nervous, he hoped he was up to the task. The Blackeagle would need premiere officers in order to suceed in her mission.
Elijah was no Captain Kerr, but he had a feeling with the had a feeling that he would live up to the challenge or crash hard. He prefer to think he was going to succeed. He also knew that captain Kerr was not in command of the USS Blackeagle, an unknown Captain. A new captain was.
Captain Solwick was. From what he heard, he learned she would be a firm Fair leader, however maybe a little intimidating because of the namesake. He walked over to the viewing portal, where he saw the ship docked. It was the only outside view he could see at the moment.
He was not going to the rec room to talk to anyone, he was just there mainly to process the day when it happened. He couldn't believe that he's going to be an acting department ahead and tell his Senior Chief reported for Duty.
Olivia looked up and saw one of the others from the meeting earlier. She tried to remember his name, she thought he had a nice voice. Elijah. That was it. “Hello.” she said to him. It was in Olivia’s nature to be friendly.
Elijah wasn't expecting another person to be in the room, it was still early enough in the evening. He turned around and like it's the most beautiful red-headed woman imaginable. He remembered that she was in the meeting but he couldn't remember her name. Just her sure beauty. He mustered up the strength to say. “Hello.”
“I’m Olivia.” She continued with a smile. “We were on the shuttle together earlier.”
“I’m Elijah Parker, I'm a little surprised to see somebody else in the record, especially this late in the morning.” He said thinking that most people would be getting dinner right about now. He was going to wait till the dinner rush died down.
“I hate crowds.” Olivia explained. “I would rather wait until most people have left.” She smiled. “I admit to wanting to hear myself think.”
“I'm sorry, that I ruined those plans for you.” Elijah said, feeling a little guilty but then realizing himself he was here first. But nonetheless he still feel a little guilty.
“Oh no.” Olivia said with a smile. “I am glad to be able to talk to you like this. I am much better in a smaller setting and I am happy to get to know you.”
“Get to know me?” Elijah was shocked by her comment, because they had not agreed to meet up here. But her comment suggested that maybe they did.
Olivia frowned not knowing what she said wrong. “I meant since we are both already here we could keep each other company. Sorry I misunderstood.”
“I was teasing, I understood, the first time.” Elijah said with a smirk on his face. There was something about her, that brought a smile to his face.
“Oh.” Olivia laughed softly. “You got me there, I thought you were serious.” She liked a guy with a sense of humor.
“I would be happy to get to know you.” Elijah said with a big warm smile on his face. She seemed like a nice girl.
“I would like to get to know you as well.” Olivia said with a smile of her own. “I’m glad we ran into each other.”
“Well shall we start, getting to know each other. I'll go first. What do you like to do for fun?” Elijah asked with the big grin on his face, thinking to himself this is a simple basic question a ice breaker.
“For fun.” Olivia said with a smile. “I like to hang out with friends, I love board games and…sometimes just stay home and watch a movie or something. You?”
“Honestly I'm trying to figure that out, I do like to go to the bar to socialize with all of you guys. It's better than being in my room alone. I've never really tried watching a movie, is that an enjoyable activity?” Elijah asked, he was always on the move, always on the go.
“It is,” Olivia said with a nod. “When you're in that mood where you want to hang out with another person and not deal with a crowd. Sometimes I feel lonely and i'll put one on.”
“I should try that sometime. I don't know if it will work for me, till I try at least once.” Elijah said with a big warm smile on his face.
“If you want to.” Olivia said with a smile. “You can come to my quarters one night and watch one. I will even make popcorn.”
“Sounds like a date.” Boldly stated Elijah with a smile on her face, you don't want to misinterpret what she was telling him. So he decided to be direct.
Olivia smiled at him. “Yes, a dare.” She was glad he had picked up on it. “Is tomorrow night too soon?”
“A dare?” Elijah said. “You don't need to dare me to go on a date with you.” He pointed it out to her.
“I meant a date.” Olivia said with a smile. “You knew what I meant.” She kind of liked his sense of humor.
“Hey I saw an opportunity and I went for it.” Elijah said with the big loving smile on his face.
“I can see a lot of that coming my way.” Olivia laughed good-naturedly. “You never answered my question.”
“Maybe I got lost in our side banter, what was your question that you asked?” Elijah asked, giving her, his undivided attention.
“Would tomorrow night work for you to come watch a movie?” Olivia asked him with a smile. She waited to hear his answer.
“What kind of movie do you want to watch, but tomorrow will work for me.” Elijah said hoping it wasn't some like foreign movie with subtitles and a bunch of opera singing.
“Would you like to watch a comedy?.” Olivia said with a smile. “ Is there anything you’ve ever heard of that you thought about seeing?”
“I would love to, so tomorrow night what do you say 1900 hours?” Elijah asked, wanting to confirm the date before she changed her mind.
“That is perfect,” Olivia said with a smile. “I’ll make certain to have some snacks and drinks.”
“I should probably get going, but I look forward to seeing you tomorrow night.” Elijah said as a scene starts to fade away.
Olivia looked forward to the next evening. She couldn’t wait for him to come over and spend time together. “See you tomorrow.” She said with a smile as she watched him head on his way.
