Mission:
The 'Eagle continues.
Location: Bridge
Timeline: MD001 0900 hrs
Kian had arrived early today, he had a lot he wanted to do before they headed out. He stopped at his desk and checked for any messages he might have. Seeing none, he headed out and grabbed two of his engineers and gave them their instructions for the day.
Kian knew the ship had all its original factory parts but yet again, the captain asked him to check. He was beginning to think she did not trust him. Still, she was the captain, so he and his team went through the tedious task of verifying them once more. He had even managed to attain some spare parts in case of an emergency. You never knew when something might come up with no time to search for parts.
Kian and his team poured over the engines and all equipment and once again they all came back as the original parts on the ship. He immediately went and sent yet another report stating just that. Sometimes orders seemed a little over the top but he was a team player and if asked to check them a hundred times he would do it. He wasn’t the boss.
Once he stopped to grab a mug of coffee he let the current crew take a break and grabbed a new engineering team. They headed for the shuttle bay. One by one they went through each and every seatbelt system in all the shuttlecrafts and fighter jets. Kian found no issues but he did replace two seatbelts he wasn’t one hundred percent satisfied with.
It was well into the evening by the time they finished this project up, he sent his team home and a message to Melora that he would be very late getting home. There was nothing to do about it, he didn’t want the captain on his ass. He would rather just get it done today and be finished. One of his engineers volunteered to go with him. Kian appreciated those who worked for him, they were good at what they did and not afraid of hard work.
Heading to the bridge, Kian checked every seatbelt and console over thoroughly to make certain there were no issues with anything. He had just been there two days ago and done the very same thing but yet again here he was checking his work over again.
Once he was finished he sent all the data to the command officers and headed back to engineering. His engineers had put away the supplies that Melora had made certain were delivered. He put his things away and headed out the door to head for his quarters. He realized he was hungry and would have to replicate a meal it had been a long time since lunch. No
Kian knew Melora and the children would be asleep. It was well past time for him to be home. But there were days like this and in spite of all the rechecking he loved his job. Being an engineer was all he had ever wanted to do in Starfleet and the icing on the cake was being with his family. Heading into their quarters, everything was quiet, as expected. He took his shoes off and silently went into the kitchen.
