Title: Sit with me
Location: Mess Hall
Timeline: 2100 hrs, After the Acting Heads Meeting
Sophia was on the ship as Nathan Gallagher, she just wished the other officers would just stop talking to her. They were really getting on her nerves. She noticed another man staring at her, but he was trying not to make it obvious.
She wished he would have saved her, but he did nothing. Maybe he to scared to approach her. She was not really sure. Sophia was able to scare the men away by talking about sickbay, she was a bit of a health guru. She teased them by saying she would love for them to come down to sickbay, and offer themselves up as lab experiments.
Slowly the men stopped talking to her, and she felt a sigh of relief. She decided she was hungry, it was still early enough to get some food on the Blackeagle’s mess hall. Sophia went inside the mess hall and grabbed a plate, and then found a table to sit at.
Sophia had already grabbed the table when she noticed her cute man walking over by her table, it looked like he was trying to find a place to sit. “You can sit with me, I promise I don't bite.” she said with a big smirk on her face.
“Thanks.” William said as he sat his tray down and took a seat. “The place is pretty full. I appreciate you sharing with me.” His eyes lit up as he smiled. “I don’t bite either.”
“Well that's good, you were in the shuttle earlier today. I apologize I'm bad with names. I am Sophia Reynolds.” She said with a warm smiling bubbly personality.
“William Sullivan.” He said, a smile on his face. “I am bad at names, I was hoping you would say yours. That was quite the shuttle ride.”
“I hate eating alone, I hope this isn't too forward. But can I eat with you.” Sophia said not wanting to be the one, she wasn't lying when she said that. It wasn't a pick up line either.
“Of course.” William said with a smile. “I am the same. I wonder about people who sit day after day alone and eat. I am too much of a people person for that.”
“Then it looks like I have a new table buddy.” Sophia said mainly teasing, but hoping he would say yes.
“I am glad to hear that.” Is this your first assignment?”
“Yes and it's my first day, barely had enough time to throw my stuff into the barracks where I'm staying at, then a meeting then another meeting then dinner which is now this moment here.” Sophia pointed out to him, with a smile on her face.
“Sounds like mine as well.” William nodded. “I arrived late last night, and today has been hectic. A lot to process in 24 hours.” He said, trying to come to terms with it all.
Well the good news is we're off for the rest of the night so I'm at the bad news is it gets started all over again tomorrow.” Sophia said with a teasing grin.
“So we should enjoy our evening while we can.” William said with a nod. “I’m not sure what they have for entertainment.”
“I am pretty sure its like most ships, the bar is the entertainment.” Sophia said, sounding reasonably confident in her answer.
“What do you think about going there after we have dinner.” William asked her.it would he nice to relax.”
“Sounds like a date.” Sophia said what the playful voice. Because it was a date, but she didn't seem to mind. He seem to be an okay guy, he was very attractive. She didn't have a boyfriend. So why not, she said to herself.
“Yeah.” William said with a smile. “I would like to get to know you.” He thought she was cute and seemed really nice.”
“And people told me it would be hard to get a date.” Sophia said with the teasing grin on her face.
“I know it might seem rather quick.” William confessed. “I like you and I am not one to second guess myself.”
“I wish I had your confidence, but I will say. I am leaning on liking you too.” Sophia said, not wanting to lead him, but give him some hope.
“I understand what your saying.” William said with a smile. “I am looking forward to it.”
“Just not going to take it that long to finish dinner, hope you come up with something soon.” Sophia suggested to him.
“We’re going to the bar, remember?” William said with a smile. “And then maybe we will find something to do from there.”
Sophia grinned, they definitely had a plan now. “Sorry, it's been a late night and no don't give me a rain check. I want to go to the bar with you.” She said feeling a little guilty about forgetting the fact that he just said they were going to go to the bar.
“Good.” William smiled as he took a bite of his food. “Did you travel here on a starship?”
He asked. “I came on a transport.”
“Oh you poor soul, I heard they squeeze people in like sardines on those things.” Sophia said glad that she got a ride on a Starship.
“They do.” William nodded. “If you were claustrophobic I don’t know how anyone would have survived. I pretty much ate at abnormal times and stuck to my bunk”
“Hard to believe but there are people who do, and they live on those ships. I just hope that their rooms are a little bigger than the guest rooms that I've been hearing about.” Sophia said, wondering how small they were. And she said before she was on a Starship. She doesn't know how she scored that, but she was grateful she did.
“They have to be a special breed.” William replied. “I swear I almost dropped and kissed the floor when I came onboard this ship.” He was kidding of course, but he was glad to be here.
“That would have been entertaining to see.” Sophia said with the big grin on her face.
“It would have been a bit embarrassing but I admit I was ready to be here.” William said. “Small spaces don’t bother me but that many people do.”
“Good to know, I don't mind large groups but, I could definitely see the appeal of a smaller venue.” Sophia said, understanding what he was saying. Even though she was a social butterfly, there were times you prefer to be alone or just with one or two people. Especially after personal it's a good person, and they definitely help if she likes them.
“You all settled in yet?.” William didn’t want to think about the transport anymore. “I tend to pack light so I didn’t have a lot to do.”
“So settled in is a relative term, is all my stuff there. Yeah. It doesn't feel like home yet, if I'm being honest. I think I need to get a couple trinkets the next time we stop at an alien port. I don't want anything from the station's Promenade. I am sad to admit that I probably spend about 6 hours cruise around the Promenade and didn't find a single thing I like. I feel like my room needs something to make it pop.” Sophia said, hoping she didn't scare him away with all that. But since he asked a question she felt obligated to answer it.
“You want something that reflects you.” William nodded in agreement. “So it needs to be something that catches your eye for sure. Otherwise it doesn’t have a meaning.” He smiled then. “At least that is how I see it.”
“Do you have any suggestions?” Sophia asked knowing I'd be a long shot at best, if he actually had a suggestion for.
“What do you like?” William asked her. “Some people collect certain things. My mother has a hundred cookie jars, my aunt has little stained glass birds.”
“You know that's probably the problem right there, I have no idea. I'm just hoping when I go looking for something to pop out and be like, I want that. Well that's what I'm hoping for at least.” Sophia said to him, really not sure what she wanted. She always talked it up to the fact that she was young and had time to decide.
“This probably sounds weird but I like glass stars.” William said. “They remind me of space and I have a few in my quarters. It just reminds me that new life can be found right around the corner from the furthest one.”
“Oh that does sound pretty cool, but I don't know if that could be a good centerpiece that might be something good for the sidewall or maybe my own personal China.” Sophia said, really appreciating his suggestion. “It eludes me right now, but I know as soon as I see it, that centerpiece item will pop out to me. It has too.” She said almost desperate like.
“If you would like someone to go with you on this adventure I would be happy to.” William said casually. “I’m not a huge shopper but I don’t mind if it’s a treasure hunt.”
“Nicely played, I would love your company. But remember you're torturing yourself.” Sophia said with a teasing grin. But she wanted to make sure that he knew this was his decision.
“Oh yes.” William grinned. “Pure torture. I actually don’t mind at all. Like I said, it’s not my favorite but enjoyable when you're with your friends.”
“Either you must like me, or your gay.” Sophia suggested too, and looking at the way he was dressed she had to wonder a little bit. Because he dressed nice.
“I’m not gay.” William said with a shake is his head. “I don’t love shopping , I tolerate it and I’d like to spend time with you while you're looking for that special decoration.”
“It sounds gay to me.” Sophia suggested to him in a teasing manner. “Prove to me you're not gay.” She said with a smirk.
William smiled and reached out, pulling her to him, he kissed her for a long moment and then let go, his eyes were lit up, as it had affected him more than he thought it would. “I am not gay.” He said, emotion in his voice. “If I was, I would not be standing here a little surprised at the effect you have on me.”
“I'm not sure, maybe we should try that again.” Sophia said felt like he only slept off her feet the first time he kissed her, but this time she really wanted to return the kiss. He was more in shock, what's the price there because she knew it was coming. She had a strong feeling that the kiss was coming.
Put her arms around his neck, and started to tilt her head up towards his lips, those beautiful manly lips of his. She closed her eyes as she leaned in, anticipating him to return another beautiful sweet kiss.
William kissed her once more but this time he deepened the kiss, there would be no doubt when he was done that his preference lied in the female persuasion but most of all, in her.
Sophia debated about teasing him a third time, but she thought he might get annoyed with her. As he slowly pulled away she couldn't help but have a huge smile on her face. She was mesmerized by his kiss. "I have never been so happy to be wrong in my life.” Was all she could simply think to say.
William grinned at her. “And I can say I am really glad to hear you say that.” He liked her a lot and thought she had a great sense of humor. He hadn’t known what he was going to do at first but kissing her just came natural.
“I think we should finish our meal.” Sophia said as a scene certified away, even though the scene was fading away the smile on her face grew and grew. She knew she'd like him.
William took a bite of his food and they talked about different things for the rest of their meal.
The scene starts to fade with Sophia taking an escape from her plate, but having the biggest smile on her face. She really liked William. She could see herself developing a relationship with him in the near future.
William smiled as he started to eat his food. He hadn’t ever met anyone like her. She was funny and smart. He liked how she just came out and asked him any question that came to her head. He couldn’t wait to see how their relationship developed.
