The 'Eagle continues.
Location: Quarters of Olivia Morgan
Timeline: MD001, 1835 hrs
Olivia checked the time and smiled to herself. This had been like the fourth time in five minutes. Elijah wasn’t due to show up for another ten minutes. She had found a movie to watch and when he got there she would pop the popcorn and get them something to drink. She was nervous, he had never seen a movie before, what if he didn’t like it?
She frowned and shook her head. Olivia wasn’t going to be negative, what wasn’t there to like about a movie? Elijah seemed really nice and she kind of got the feeling he would like a good comedy. Olivia heard her buzzer and headed over to the door. She checked herself out in the wall mirror and then released the door so it slid open.
Elijah walked in. He had a big smile on his face. “Am I early?” He asked, noticing she was not at the door, but over at the mirror. Apparently she was still trying to get ready. He had some flowers in his hands for her.
“Perfect timing.” She said as she turned towards him. Olivia was a little embarrassed at being caught looking in the mirror. “Come in and make yourself comfortable.”
“I got you some flowers.” Elijah said is he working to the room, taking a step closer to the sofa in her room. He gently sat down still holding the vase in his hand.
“Thank you!” Olivia smiled widely. She took the vase from him and placed them on the small table. “They are beautiful.” She was touched he thought of that. “How was your day?” She asked as she sat down next to him.
“Pretty good so far, but definitely a lot better now.” Elijah said trying to sound cute and adorable, hoping that it didn't come off as corny.
“So is mine.” Olivia said with a smile. “Can I get you something to drink?” She asked him. “I’ll get the popcorn when we start the movie.”
“What do we want to watch?” Elijah asked thinking to himself, their are thousands of movies to choose from.
“You are my guest.” Olivia said. “Pick out any of them. I wouldn’t have them if I didn’t like them.”
“Oh no no no no no, I'm not falling for that trap. Every good man knows that you let the lady choose the movie.” Elijah said is he looked over to Olivia.
“Hmmm.” Olivia said with a smile. “There is one I have had for a long time I haven’t ever watched.” She started going through her movies. “Here it is!” Olivia smiled at him. “Ten things I hate about you. It supposed to be funny.”
“How can hating me be funny?” Elijah asked. He was confused by her response. And how could she take humor from that?
“No.” Olivia said quickly. “It’s not about me hating you it’s the people in the movies it’s a comedy so I doubt they really hate each other.” She continued to look through the movies. “Fifty first dates is a good one.”
“Fifty first dates, sounds like a long movie.” Elijah said, wondering if he could sit through a long long movie. He was starting to become worried.
“It is just the name.” Olivia said with a smile.
“A movie is usually a little over two hours.” She looked at Elijah. “Why don’t you pick a movie out? Something you think sounds good.”
“Well maybe, or we could just give it on the one you suggested a try. I've never heard of those movies, are they classics?” Elijah said a little confused, and slightly annoyed that she wanted him to choose a movie. But because the fact that he was interested in her, he was letting it slide.
“Okay.” Olivia turned rhe fifty first dates movie on sat down beside him. She felt like she was blowing this date with him and didn’t know how to fix it. “I’m sorry.”‘she said finally.
“Start by telling me if it's a classic? I've never heard that title.” Elijah asked her yet again. He sat down next year on the sofa and waited for the movie to start.
“I wouldn’t say it was a classic.” Olivia said after a moment. “It’s more of a light hearted comedy.”
“Then what are you saying it is, and should we even watching this if it's not a classic?” Elijah asked, a little confused by this whole thing.
“It is a popular top rated movie.” Olivia explained. “Classics are movies like Gone with the Wind or the Wizard of Oz.”
“I've never heard of those.” Elijah said, wondering what type of movies were those. He wasn't familiar with 21st century cinematography.
“I think the only way to find out what you like is to watch different movies.” Olivia suggested. “I like all different genres. If one doesn’t work, we can try something else.”
“I wasn't really an answer to my question. And when you mean all the movies how far back are we going?” Elijah ask, having no idea this scope of things.
“What I have starts in the 1960’s and newer.” Olivia said. “I have an extensive package I can access that my father gave me before I left so I just look them up and play them electronically.” She paused. “Is there any movie out there that ever tempted you to watch it?”
“We could try, but I don't know. But I'm willing to try anything once.” Elijah said with a smile on his face.
“I chose the comedy because it is funny and light hearted, it isn’t real intense to start with.” Olivia explained. “There are some good action adventure we could try next.”
“Like I said I'm going to try anything once.” Elijah said as he waited for Olivia to move the conversation forward. This is her place, so she needed to just get everything set up.
“Settle back and I will start the movie.” Olivia said. “Would you l like something to drink before I get started?”
“Popcorn, I believe that's the appropriate snack of choice for a movie.” Elijah said it was a big grin on his face.
Olivia went and got the popcorn and each of them something to drink. She came back and handed him a glass. Sitting down, she started the movie. “I really hope you like it.”
“Me too.” Elijah said as the scene starts to fade away.
Olivia started watching the movie with him. She hoped for a first movie he enjoyed it.”
