“I have someone in mind for the first officer position.” Melora said as she looked over to Kian, and hugged her two children who were running into their mothers arms. They had been wanting to see her, since she arrived back onto the Academy Grounds.

Ava and Nero both had one thing on their mind. What ship did their mother get? Either they did not hear her say who she wanted as XO, or they did not care. Melora could sense their excitement, as she started to walk towards her loving Husband.

“Oh.” Kian said as he looked to his wife. She sounded like she needed his opinion. He knew she would make whatever decision she felt was best, but he was always her sounding board. She could count on him to be honest.

“As you all know, Auntie Amara lost her ship recently, I was thinking of making her my new number one. What do you all think?” Melora asked as she waited to see what the kids and Kian thought of her plan?

“Yes!” Avaxa said with a grin. “We like her daughters a lot and you can help her.”

Kian thought for a moment. “I thought command was sending her to a station?”

“I intervened on her behalf, what happened to her, it wasn't her fault. No matter what starfleet said it wasn't her fault.” Melora said, she felt that her friend had been prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law because of the fact they needed example and justification for why Starfleet loss of federation Starship not just one but several. He felt like her friend was being used as an escape goat.

“What did Starfleet have to say about you offering her the position?” Kian asked her. He thought she was doing the right thing but was curious.

“Admiral Picard and Janeway backed my play.” Melora said feeling proud of the fact that they agreed with her decision.

“This is why you make a great command officer.” Kian said with a smile. “I think it’s the right thing to do and I’m proud of you for thinking if Amara.” He pulled her close.

“Let’s go, Nero!” Avaxa groaned. “They are going to do the kissy face.”

“Why are you giving them a hard time. I saw you being all kissy face with a boy you're Imzadi.” Nero said with the teasing his sister, knowing that might get his little sister in trouble, when you mean little sister he really met his big sister.

“What, your Imzadi?” Kian said. He looked at Melora. “We might have a problem here.”

“I think you're right, my love.” Melora said a little concerned. Why was Avaxa kissing him.

Nero had a big grin on his face, he knew he got her in trouble, this was payback, he was getting under his sister's skin.

“Tell me a little one why are you snitching to your father about your sister's action?” Melora asked her son.

“She was kissing him, Mama. She's a hypocrite, saying how disgusting it is that you two do it but yet she can do it and it's not?” Nero asked.

“I see, and what is your father think about this?” Melora said waiting for him to respond.

“Nero.” He turned to his son. “It is wrong to snitch on your sister. I don’t want to find out that you do it again.”

Kian felt he did his fatherly duty. He then turned to Avaxa. “You are eleven years old, that is not a responsible enough age for you and Vastir to be kissing.

“That isn’t fair.” Avaxa declared. “It was one kiss and he is my Imadzi. I bet you both kissed at my age!” She looked at Nero, the little snitch was going to pay.

“Your father's right. We'll talk about this later tonight. We have a ship to board.” Melora said with the big smile on her face.

“Let’s go.” Kian said to the two of them. He was relieved that Melora had ended this, Avaxa was giving Nero dirty looks. “This is a big moment for your mother.”

“This is a big moment for us all, this isn't just my moment.” Well Melora said with the big grin on her face.

Nero had a big smile on his face, as he looked at his mother and then at his father. “Can we get a full tour mama?” Yes with the big smile on his face, hoping that she would say yes.

“I am with Nero.” Kian spoke up with a grin. “It would be great for a full tour, right Avaxa.”

Avaxa was still irritated with her brother but she couldn’t help but be pulled in. “Please!” She said to her mother. “Can we?”

“I can't give you a full tour but I'll give you the best tour I could possibly can.” Melora suggested to both of her children.

Nero but slightly disappointed, but he kept his verbal feelings feelings to himself. Telepathically though, he was screaming inside his own mind. He did the best to hide that from the others.

“Thank you, Mama.” Avaxa said with a smile. She knew she had to accept what was offered, and not complain.

“I can't wait to see your guys's faces when we be over, it's time to head out. We've been waiting long enough.” Melora suggested to her family.

“Let's go.” Nero said if he ran out the door, but then stopped cuz he had no idea where he was going.

“Keep going, Genius.” Avaxa said with a laugh. “Show us the ship, Nero.” She was still irritated.

“Enough.” Kian spoke in a calm, yet strong voice. “The two of you will spend the next hour in our new quarters while your mother and I take this tour if you say another word to each other.”

“I didn't say anything wrong, mom are you the dad that get away with that?” Nero said wondering why dad was picking on him, all he wanted to do was explore the entire ship. And when Mom said no he said let's go as in let's go visit the shift because she was trying to get everyone out the door anyways, big old mean Dad here but just being a big old jerk and trying to punish him for something his sister was doing.

Melora looked to Kian, she was curious to see how he was going to resolve this situation that he created. Her son was right, he was being punished for something his sister said. Unless he justified because he got her in trouble earlier with the kissing comment, maybe. But those are two separate incidents.

“It has only been a few minutes since you told on your sister.” Kian explained. “She was just retaliating. I wasn’t blaming you for this incident but I knew if I didn’t put a stop to it, you would say something back.” He paused. “Do not bring your mother into an issue you have with me. We are a team, I respect her and she respects me.”

Avaxa was watching with interest. “But mom’s in charge. You just do what she tells you to do. That’s the way it is going to be with me and Vastir. If he argues with me, he is going to his room.”

Kian looked over to Melora. She was going to get the pleasure of talking to Avaxa. She was seeing their relationship in a bad light.

“What did you say to him?” Melora after she walked over to her daughter and got right in her face. She was not going to tolerate that disobedient behavior.

Avaxa’s eyes widened. She knew her mother was not happy. “I am sorry, Dad.” She was a little confused about what she said wrong. “I didn’t mean to insult him, mama.”

“I'm not the one you should be apologizing to.” Melora blended out to her daughter.

Avaxa turned to her father. “I’m sorry I was disrespectful. I let my temper get the best of me. I didn’t mean what I said, I just lashed out at you.”

“Apology accepted.” Kian replied quietly. “In the future I suggest you think before you speak. It might not be so easy to forgive another time.”

“I understand.” Avaxa said with a nod. She turned to her mother. “May we go on the tour now?” She felt bad and wanted to move on.

“Can we father?” Nero as excitedly and slightly with an impatient tone to his voice.

“Yes.” Kian replied, looking from his daughter to his son. “You both had better be on your best behavior or I will end the tour and you will both sit in your rooms for the rest of the day.”

Nero wondered why his father had to be so melodramatic. He kept his feelings in his emotion to check. His father couldn't stand it by without violating Starfleet regulation. So there's no way he could have known towards his father at this very moment. He was very good about keeping his feelings locked up. When he was younger he had a hard time with that so he really focused over the last couple years about controlling his emotions. “Understood father.”

Kian smiled slightly trying to soften his statement. He didn’t want his children to think he was a dictator but he didn’t want his wife embarrassed either.

“Now that settled, who wants to go on a tour?” Melora asked both of her children. She was happy with the fact that her husband was able to handle the children.

“I do.” Avaxa said with a smile. She was going to ignore her brother or he would get them in more trouble.

“All right follow me.” Melora said as the scene starts to fade away.

Avaxa followed behind her parents. She looked over at her brother who had the same smile on his face. They both couldn’t wait to see their new home.
