Anna had enjoyed the evening with Nathan the evening. They had wandered around the ship and found it impressive. She had been surprised when he walked her to her quarters and was happy that he asked her to meet him for dinner the next evening. Anna had said yes right away and then thought perhaps she had been too eager.

She walked down the corridor and to the mess hall. Anna walked in and looked around. She saw Nathan was already waiting for her and she headed over to where he stood.

“I hope I’m not late.” Anna said knowing she was early. She hated being late for anything but felt like it was a good conversation starter.

“Youre right on time.” Nathan said with a big smile. He had forgotten all about the brunette from the shuttle by this point.

Anna had sparked his curiosity, and he was curious to see where it would go. For the moment, they had plans to go out that night. “I am looking forward to exploring the ship with you.” Nathan said with a humbling voice.

“So am I.” Anna said with a genuine smile. She was looking forward to spending time with him as well. “It’s funny how two ships can look the same but have their own character.”

“What do you mean?” Nathan asked, openly confused. He was clearly missing something. Had he served in a ship before? He had assume this was her first assignment.

Anna grinned. “I heard that at the academy, we need to familiarize ourselves with each ship we are assigned to because no two are necessarily the same.”

“That is a good strategy, I don't know why I didn't think of that.” Nathan said with the grin on his face. Get done the same thing but he didn't compare it to other shifts he just prepared himself for life on the Blackeagle.

“I think this one is going to be quite interesting.” Anna said. “The ship has history and character.”

“This is true, but we're the Next generation, the best generation.” Nathan said with a big smirk on his face.

“I couldn’t agree with you more.” Anna grinned. “They won’t know what hit them with us.”

“What are you doing later on?” Nathan asked, making sure she didn't get away. She had a really good personality about her, and talking to her seem natural.

“I have no plans.” Anna said with a smile. “But I am open to some.”

“Maybe we can get some Ice cream after exploring the ship .” Nathan suggested, then realizing how boring that sounded. But it would give them a chance to talk and walk around for a bit. And it sounded better than saying hey come over my room where I may try to seduce you.

“That sounds good to me.” Anna said with a smile. She just looked forward to spending time with him.

“Are you ready to go in?” Nathan asked with the big grin on his face. They were still at her quarters and they still had to get on with their night.

“Yes.” Anna said with a smile and turned towards her door. “Let’s head out.” She was looking forward to the evening.

“I know this is the mess hall it was the best I can do with short notice. Please, ladies first.” Nathan said, trying to be an old fashioned gentleman.

Anna smiled at his words. She was touched by what he said. “Thank you.” She said after a moment and headed through the door.

Nathan walked over to the table, and offered her a seat, which he pulled out for her. The Mess Hall was closed for the night, but he was able to work out a deal with the new chef, to have a special date night.

Anna took the seat he offered. She really appreciated how he did the little things like pulling out her chair. “Thank you.” She smiled at him. “I appreciate these small things.”

“As do i, I think chivalry is dead nowadays.” Nathan said with the big smile on his face, as he walked over to his side of the table and took a seat.

“I think not.” Anna said with a smile. “You have given it new life and I hope it gains ground.”

“ I have?” Nathan said, little confused by what you meant by New Life. He thought there was nothing wrong with his old life were as he would like to put it his current life.

“I meant being a gentleman.” Anna explained. “Others will learn from you.” She smiled. “They will see what you do and learn from your example.”

“I wasn't looking to inspire a new generation, I was just looking to get your attention.” Nathan said with the warm smile on his face.

“You have it.” Anna smiled. “In a very good way.” Her eyes met his. “I’m looking forward to getting to know you.”

“Mission accomplished.” Nathan said with the big teasing grin on his face. “Now I just need to find a way to keep the girl.” He said teasingly.

“Just keep being yourself.” Anna loved the grin on his face. “I like your sense of humor and how you are keeping it real.”

“Thank you, I like your personality as well. I see the start of something beautiful here. Sorry if that sounds really cheesy.” Nathan said as he waited to see how Anna responded.

“It doesn’t sound cheesy.” Anna said with a smile. “It sounds honest and from your heart which is what I want to hear.”

“And a little cheesy. But I appreciate the sentiment nonetheless. And I appreciate the fact that you're also honest with me. So if I start sounding too cheesy you need to let me know.” Nathan said, hoping that she understood it was okay to say things like that to him.

“I will.” Anna grinned. “I might admit to a little cheesy, but I liked the sentiment behind it.” She looked over at him. “Honesty is something I strongly believe in.”

“So you mentioned, what else do you like?” Nathan said, wanted to learn more about things she liked.

“Hmmm.” Anna smiled. “Putting me on the spot. I like picnics and long walks. Sometimes I like to play games, both card and table games. I’m really not that hard to please.”

“Where have you been all my life?” Nathan said, knowing the fact that he also like to play games about table and card. He also enjoyed the walking spending time with the ladies, well one lady. He wasn't really a player.

“Waiting for you to come along.” Anna said as she grinned. “I take it that those are things you like to do as well.”

“What do you mean like to do?” Nathan asked confusingly. He was trying to be playful in his tongue, but he didn't understand what she meant by that.

“I mentioned things I liked to do.” Anna said with a smile. “Your reaction made it sound like they were things you did as well.” Maybe she had misunderstood him.

“Sorry, it's been a long day.” Nathan said feeling a little silly for misunderstanding her.

“I understand.” Anna said with a smile. “When I have a rough day that’s a take a walk day and just do something relaxing.”

“Well I think I'd like to do that, take a nice long relaxing walk with you. Assuming you're still up for it?” He asked hoping he didn't scare her away.

“Definitely.” Anna replied with a smile. “I would really like that.” She had hoped he would ask.

“Me too, it's been a long day and a good walk to sounds nice right about now.” Nathan suggested to Anna.

“Let’s go then.” Anna’s eyes met his and she held out her hand for his. She thought this might be the start of something.

The two of them started to walk away, heading further nonchalant walk throughout the ship. “Thanks for agreeing to come along with me. It's going to make this more enjoyable.”

“Thank you for asking me.” Anna grinned. “I hate doing things alone and I really was hoping to spend this time with you.” She hoped she didn’t sound too pushy. “I feel like we really hit it off.”

“I feel the same way, there's something special about you.” Nathan said with a warm smile.

Anna squeezed his hand and they walked along in silence for a few minutes. It was a good, comfortable feeling. “I’ve never felt this way, this fast.”

“I know what you mean but I think we should take it slow none the less. Good things come to the two ways, and I have a feeling we have an eternity to discover it.” Nathan said to her. He had a very good feeling about them.

“I agree.” Anna nodded. “This is new for us and it is best to take our time and see where it leads us.” She didn’t want to mess this up by going to fast for either of them.

“I hope that doesn't make me sound weak. I've been hurt already. But I'm over it. But it has maybe a little more cautious.” Nathan said with a smile on your face. He was trying to hide it insecurities.

“I understand what you’re saying.” Anna said as she stopped and turned to face him. “I’m not in a hurry, I prefer we do this at a pace that makes both of us happy.”

“Well now they have the awkward conversations over with, let's get on with our night.” Nathan suggested to Anna. As the night starts to fade away.

“I couldn’t agree more.” Anna said with a smile. She liked that they could just spend time together and be comfortable.
