Tripping and Dropping

318 words; about a 2 minute read

Mission: The 'Eagle continues.
Location: Bridge

As tired as she was, and exhausted as well, she dragged her feet looking for the captain. What seemed like hours, Yadira finally found her way to the bridge of the new ship. Stepping out of the lift. Yadira almost fell, tripping over a piece of carpeting that had slightly not been put down correctly, catching the toe of her suit. She managed to grab the railing and finally got to fix her feet, but at the same time she dropped all of what she had in her hands in order to grab the rail and left a mess of papers and PADD's on the floor of the bridge.

“Excuse me for leaving a mess on your bridge sir. Captain Kerr I presume? Tossing me from place to place while I'm on vacation does not sit well with me. Now you tell me why Starfleet decides to send a Captain, little people out here to The boondocks to bring all of this stuff to you and a shuttle full of cargo. Is there something I missed in a briefing? What did I miss enlighten me please?”. Yadira waiting for an answer from the captain, Yadira started to pick up the Miss on the floor. Hoping she could do it quickly and silently which was never a good thing when it comes to paper and PADD’s because pads make a scraping sound and when you put paper together to get it all straight, it makes an unhealthy noise. It rattles people's nerves which is something and did not want to do. It's like having someone using their nails being drawn across a blackboard, how it screeches, makes the sound and it’s maddening that sound makes you want to kill somebody. Pads when they hit the surface of the deck. It's the combination of the pad itself. When it scrapes the deck, it does make that god-awful noise.
