Mission: The 'Eagle continues.
Location: USS BlackEagle.
Timeline: Current.

Kilbane hurried across the bridge and into the turbolift, angry tears in his eyes. He'd been so full of joy thinking he'd possibly cracked a way of tracing where the USS Ranger may have headed, he wasn't prepared for the sight that had met him on entering the Captain's Ready Room. He couldn't get the image of Shon and Finchley kissing out of his mind and as the doors closed behind him he punched the 'lift wall, "HOLODECK ONE!" he shouted.

In a few moments the doors opened again and Kilbane stormed out and headed for the holodeck. Reaching it, he slammed his hand on the wall and through gritted teeth said, "Kilbane, programme one..."

There were a few moments of waiting, then the computer said ==^==Programme running, enter when ready==^==

The doors of the holodeck opened and Kilbane walked in. What greeted him was how he felt, there was a storm under way, the rain lashed down, wind howled and lightening flashed on the hillside.

"That's fucking perfect!" he said truthfully. He walked through the storm and headed towards the castle, he had a task to perform and nothing nor nobody was going to stop him...

Shon entered the holodeck in the middle of a storm. She looked for him through the rain and called his name into the howling wind. She knew he would head for the castle and made her way there. At last soaking wet she stood by the main doors, they were locked so she banged as hard as she could again and again. she leant against the door and shouted. "I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE LET ME IN WE HAVE TO TALK!"

A small square on the door opened revealing metal plate crisscrossed, Harris staring out of it.

"His Grace has said he's not to be disturbed, by anyone M'Lady, and especially not by you. I'm sorry, you'll have to leave" Harris said, starting to close the wood surround of the small square panel.

"He WILL see me Harris!" she exclaimed as she put her hand into the hole in the door. "KEVIN YOU HAVE TO SEE ME WE HAVE TO TALK, IF NECESSARY I WILL TURN THE SIMULATION OFF. PLEASE!" She shouted as the rain finally did its job and soaked her completely.

"His Grace is otherwise engaged" Harris answered, "he's taken two of the flintlock pistols, some gunpowder and musket balls down to the cellar for target practice. He seemed somewhat angry when he returned and said he needed to 'shoot something to get it out of his system'. This isn't the first time I've seen him angry, but it is the first time he's ever wanted to shoot at something to get rid of it. If I may be so impertinent M'Lady, have you any idea why His Grace is so upset?"

"Shit this for bricks!" Shon exclaimed. "Computer discontinue current simulation Second Officer authorisation Gamma 4 Epsilon 3." Everything stopped, the rain, the wind, Harris and the castle became nothing but a holodeck grid with Kevin and Shon at opposite ends. "Now will you talk to me?" she asked.

Kevin turned around when the holodeck surroundings reverted back to the plain 'deck and he heard Shon's voice, "Leave now Shon" he said evenly, but with a sting behind it, "just turn around and walk away, go back to your Captain, I have nothing to say to you."

There is no way I am going to leave Kevin. I know you are angry beyond measure and upset right now. What you saw was not planned in any way, it just happened and I am so sorry. I know that does not mean anything to you now and if you want to get physical we can do that. Just engage with me!"

Kevin began walking slowly towards Shon, anger clearly showing on his face, his pace began to quicken and as he reached her he said, "I don't engage with harlots, so just fuck off, have you got that, crawl back to that slick bastard Kerr, you know, the one you want to fuck even though you said you loved me and wanted to be HERE" he gestured around the holodeck, "well, the 'here' when the programme was running. You don't get to speak to me, EVER again. The only time I want to communicate with you now is 'if' we end up on an away team together and I have to, or, when I'm dancing on Kerr's grave with you as the grieving trollop beside it, and even then, it'll just be to taunt you. Now, I'm walking out the doors, if you follow me, I will get very very VERY angry. Get this through your thick skull, there's nothing, NOTHING you can say that can explain what I saw, and how much of a joke you've made of me. THAT is unforgivable, and I hope I live long enough to see you suffer because of what you've done!"

"Computer, DOORS!" he ordered, and the holodeck doors appeared. He stormed towards them and they opened, allowing him to exit out back into the corridor. It was at that point that Karadis was passing and she saw him storm past her, a look of genuine rage on his face.

"What's got you so angry Kilbane, did someone wedgie you again?" Karadis asked.

Kilbane stopped, turned round and walked back to Karadis, "Has anyone ever told you what a fucking arsehole you are?"

"Yes, mostly you and Bird, but others have as too" she replied.

"Well, perhaps you should listen to them and change your attitude, try being...Klingon, and not a dung beetle!" Kilbane replied, then turned round and stormed off again.

"What's got your panties in a twist" Karadis muttered to herself as she watched him hurry away.

Shon barrelled out of the holodeck straight into Karadis. "Which way did he go...Kevin...Kilbane I have to catch up to him."

"Are you the cause of his anger, what have you done?" Karadis asked, putting two and two together.

"Nothing that need bother you, which way did he go? Shon asked again.

"No, not till you tell me" Karadis replied, standing her ground, "I've seen Kilbane upset before, but that's a special kind of anger, one you only see when...wait a minute, did you do something stupid when you know he loves you? If you have, you need to tell me right now because I know what he's capable of when he's out of control and I'm one of the few who can bring him back down, me and Kerr. In fact, go and get Kerr right now, he'll know what needs done."

"You do not tell me what to do, this is between the two of us." Shon touched her combadge. "where is Lieutenant Commander Kilbane?" she asked. "Lieutenant Commander Kilbane is in his quarters." Shon stalked off ignoring Karadis as she went to find him. Anger was beginning to build inside her like a small plasma fire growing bigger by the moment. She reached his quarters about to blow. Striking his door chime she waited.

Karadis followed Shon to Kilbane's quarters, she was putting it all together. Arriving just after Shon had at Kilbane's quarters, she saw Shon and said, "You did something with Kerr and Kilbane saw it, you betrayed Kilbane, you did something that hurt him...Oh...my...God...you did it with Kerr!"

Inside his quarters, Kilbane opened the door and held the phaser in his hand, "Fuck off Lieutenant Commander T'ghann-Dex, you're dead to me, you and that bastard Kerr, you come through these doors and I'll kill you, then I'll go to the bridge and kill Kerr, and last of all I'll kill myself and have no regrets, because at least I'll have closure knowing you fuckers died before I did!"

Karadis looked at Shon, "You did this, you drove him to the edge, and past it, you've killed off the one part of Kilbane that still gave him hope that he could come through this posting alive because he'd have someone to live for. He hate's you, and I can understand why, now get away from that door before I break you in two and feast on your bones you bitch!"

Shon saw the look in Kevin’s face and knew there was nothing she could say or do that would make it any better or, any worse. She backed off and left returning to her own quarters, feeding Puss and trying to meditate. She truly hated herself for what she had done to him and hoped that Karadis would be able to help him. She looked out of the windows for a while and then got incredibly drunk falling unconscious on the floor in front of a holo image of her and Kilbane.

Finchley arrived at Shon's quarters and presses the chime, hoping she would answer. When there was no reply he asked the computer where she was and was informed she was inside. Overriding the door lock he rushed inside to see Shon lying on the floor apparently passed out. Helping her to her bed, he made sure she was comfortable and had water in case she woke up. Settling beside her on a chair he waited for her to wake up.

"No way out" mumbled Shon as she came too realising she was in her own bed. Reaching over slowly shs picked up her phaser from the floor. "LIGHTS' she called then "LIGHTS OFF" as two large solar flares burned into her retinas. "Itsh ou" she said as she saw Finchley sitting there and everything came flooding back. "Have you seen him?" she asked.

"No" Finchley replied, "I'll wait for a little while, let him calm down to a raging inferno, then speak to him. Are you going to be alright, can I leave you now and know you'll be reporting for duty in the morning?"

"Yes, of course, i will rehydrate, shower, meditate and be good as new. Finchley what happened between us...is it going anywhere?"

"Well I hope so Shon, otherwise this situation with Kilbane will just get all the worse" Finchley replied, "What you have to ask yourself is this, do you want it to go anywhere?"

Surak help me Finchley, I love you, I always have. Now let me sleep and If we are both still alive in the morning I will see you then. I am, I believe due on the bridge at 0.700."

Meanwhile back at Kilbane's quarters Karadis walked in and said to him, "Let me have the phaser Kilbane, you don't need it now, she's gone."

"She's taken everything from me Karadis" Kilbane said, waving the phaser in the general direction of where Shon had been standing, "my love, my trust, my heart...and she's ground it into the dirt and worst of all, with KERR, the very person who I thought would never betray me as I thought he was my friend!"

"Oh, don't you worry about him, I'll make sure he pays for what he's done to you, and pay dearly, he'll wish he'd never seen Shon again and she'll wish she'd never set foot on this ship again" Karadis replied.

"You make sure they pay dearly Karadis, do you hear me, I want them hurt badly, I want them to pay for their betrayal!!!" Kilbane said, lowering the phaser and letting it drop to his side.

Karadis moved slowly and took the phaser from his hand, "Have no fear Kilbane, they will...they will."
