Well Hello!!!!

Mission: The 'Eagle continues.

Lt. Commander James Westin sat in the mess hall, He had not long ago arrived aboard the Blackeagle from the starship Jefferson, and he was tired and hungry. So, after finding his quarters and dropping off his bags he headed to the mess hall. He knew he could have gone to the officer's mess but he didn't want anything fancy maybe some soup and a sandwich or just a sandwich. In the end he settled for a roast beef and Swiss sandwich on a toasted Hoagie bun and some chips with a cup of coffee and now he sat alone and just trying to relax.

Yadira, as usual was deep in thought when she walked past a startling handsome man. He was new and sitting alone eating. She could sense his thoughts but pushed them to the side. "Well hello there, I am Yadira. You are new here....um... Lt. Cmdr.....?

James was roused from eating his sandwich by a voice, Looking up he saw the prettiest set of hazel blue eyes he had ever seen. "Hello." He answered. Lt. Cmdr James Westin. It is a pleasure to meet you Yadira. I was just having a sandwich. Would you like to join me? Can I get you anything?"

Yadira was literally in another world with James beside her. She had to shake her head to focus on the moment. "Yes I would like some Vulcan tea and some cucumber finger sandwich's if you would please" as finished talking and sat down. ~~Yadira think focus on the now not what you want later~~ she told herself.

"Certainly. Excuse me for a moment, I will be right back with your Vulcan tea and cucumber finger sandwiches." James replied standing up to go get Yadira her tea and sandwich. The sooner he got it; the sooner he could sit down and talk to her and get to know her better.

"Thankyou James. Your qualifications proceed you. I'm not much with archeology but I'm eager to learn", Yadira eating the sandwichs with joy.

"You are much too kind Yadira, but it is nice to hear that someone wants to learn about archeology. Most people think it is boring and dull." James replied with a bright smile as he took another bite of his sandwich. After a bite and a sip of his coffee, James asked "So, what do you do aboard the Blackeagle?"

"Basically I am the ships Mission Advisor. I deal with missions that need the intelligence gatherings, then there are other fields that I can handle. Such as fly her, work engineering, security, etc. Jack of all trades, including Captain, hence my rank. I stepped down and gave her to my Executive Officer to fly. It's funny how you never lose the first love and this ship was my first love. I took an old Akira class and fought to fix her and that's how she got her name and I was her first captain. Thru the years, she had her ups and downs and well...hear we are" Yadira finished saying.

James coughed and almost choked on his sandwich. "Cap, Captain? Oh my gosh! I hope you don't think I was being disrespectful or too familiar." James blushed in embarrassment thinking he had made a major mistake with Yadira.

Putting her hand gently on his shoulder, "Hey don't worry about it. You are not the first person to almost choke when they find out. They say being a Captain is a lonely job, and they are so right it isn't funny. For the moment I thought me feelings for someone else was there but as usual wishful thinking. I miss...well maybe some day. Just don't be shocked or embarrassed. I got used to it ", Yadira said to James. She gently took his hand hopping she could make him feel better.

James shook his head, "I am embarrassed. However, my embarrassment aside, I like you. I realize that may sound very forward but I would like to get to know you better if you can overlook my colossal mistake." He said with a smile.

"What mistake? You didn't make any mistake, I may have made a mistake my self. Sometimes I get carried away and spill more than I should. But as with everything said, I like you as well. I would like to see you and get to know you as well " Yadira said blushing slightly herself.

James shook his head, "You didn't make any mistake Yadira, er captain and I happy to hear you would like to see me and get to know me. Perhaps we can have dinner together and to this properly."

"Stop killing yourself...and please call me Yadira. This is an informal meeting, and rank has no meaning hear," Yadira said.

A relieved smile crossed Jame's face. I appreciate that very much. Thank you, Yadira. So would you like to have dinner with me in the near future?" James asked.

She stood up and not realizing where she was at that moment, she looked at James and her emotions got the best of her and she could feel the old warmth of what she wanted. The old warmth of being wanted or wanting to have a man in her life. James was handsome and she could sense his emotions at the same time. Now she sat back down and took his hand in hers and looked at him and said,” James, what are you doing later? I really don't know what I'm doing. But, my emotions have gotten the best of me. I feel old emotions rising in me from a long lost love that has me left at the altar. I can sense in you that you have some feelings towards me. Don't turn red and get embarrassed. I am being honest and it kind of makes for an interesting evening if you get my meaning. Now we can sit here and just like literally enjoy each other's company in public or we might go somewhere else if I think your affections are what I'm sensing in you”. Now she was getting embarrassed by telling him that. It wasn't a normal thing for her emotions to get the best of her but they did at that moment and she turned beet red in embarrassment and put her head in her hand shaking her head.

James held onto Yadira's hand as she spoke. he was surprised by her honesty and found it refreshing in this day of being polite and not saying what they meant or how they feel. "Yadira, please don't be embarrassed. You are correct, I do have feelings for you, and I would like to get to know you better and have this fledging relationship grow and become deeper. I am sorry some damn fool left you at the altar. For he is a damn fool, not seeing the wonderful, beautiful intelligent woman he was with." He nodded his head, "Yes, we could sit here and enjoy each other's company and be perfectly polite in doing so. However, I think that we both want more than to sit here, so going somewhere where we can explore our feelings, our affections makes perfect sense." He stopped and raised her hand to his lips and kissed it softly. "Shall we go somewhere else?"

"Yes most definitely and make it my quarters. This way we can both enjoy each other's company ", Yadira said sheepishly".

"Sounds wonderful. I shall bring the wine and the glasses. James replied with a wink and smile.
