It sounds like a lump of wood.

Mission:
Voices of the past
Location: USS Blackeagle, Mess Hall
Timeline: Current.
Karadis had thought about it for a while, and come to a conclusion. Making her way to the Mess Hall, she went to the replicator and got herself a cranberry juice and sat at one of the tables.
"Tapping her COMM badge she said, "Commander Karadis to Lieutenant Drevas, please meet me in the Mess Hall."
"On my way." Indeed, Drevas arrived at the mess hall about five minutes later, in uniform, fresh off writing a report on their latest mission. He smiles as he joins her at the table with a cup of iced lemon tea. "What would you like to discuss?" He asked. Seeing as she was seeing him here instead of somewhere private, that was probably a sign of no bad news - right?
"First off, thank you for arriving so promptly" Karadis replied, "Secondly, and this is not easy, we're not working out together, I can't see a future for us, so we're no longer seeing each other...except in a professional on duty or mission capacity."
Now, Drevas had known that, perhaps, a relationship like theirs might not last all that long. He'd expected things to end a little later than this, actually - which didn't quite help the big sense of oof that stabbed at his ribs as he sat down across from her. "In what ways?" He asked, patiently.
"You're just not adventurous enough for me" Karadis answered, "you're slow on the uptake, you want love, that's just not me, I just want sex with no strings attached, like a...stress release kind of thing. You're fragile, if I had a full session with you I think I'd break you in two, not a good thing when you're the Chief of Security. Plus, I don't want anything long term, whereas I think you do, so, thanks for the short time we had together, but it's over. If you like, I can pretend and say we can always just be friends, if it makes things better, if not, like I said, we'll see each other on duty or during a mission setting."
"Well, you'd be quite right." Drevas admitted. "Though I would prefer if we remained friends, at least. If not, then I shan't force you." He adds with a wan smile. "I'll see you on duty regardless."
"Thank you for your understanding Lieutenant Drevas" Karadis replied, "and yes, we can remain friends."
She stood up, "If you'll forgive me, I need to see if I can have a word with the Commodore, providing he's up to having any visitors."
Walking away from the table, she patted him on the shoulder as she passed him. Situations such as relationships were hard for her, and they never seemed straight forward, perhaps just being by herself was the solution. Regardless, she had a message to give Kerr, and leaving the Mess Hall, she made for his quarters.
