Mission Summary

SFI communications has received a low frequency radio signal from the long lost Marshall Class refit, USS Ranger. The ship was part of a terraforming flotilla sent out in 2206 by the Federation as part of the idea to colonise planets devoid of any life forms but thought viable to sustain life if properly terraformed.

The radio transmission gave the last known co-ordinates of the ship along with a fragmented message stating the ship had been struck by an energy source which knocked out normal sub-space communications and most of the ships primary power systems. The last part of the message was the Ranger was limping towards a planet, then the message stopped.

The USS Blackeagle is being sent out to the last known co-ordinates of the USS Ranger to try and ascertain what happened to her and try and find out if the ship made it to the planet and if it did, were there any survivors.
