Mission:
The 'Eagle continues.
Location: Chief Counselor's Office
Timeline: After a Step in the Right Direction
After leaving Captain Kerr's ready room, Alec headed straight for the counseling complex on the Blackeagle. He needed to talk to Isabelle.
Reaching the complex, He spoke to the yeoman at the desk. "Commander Hunter, here to speak with Commander Savette."
The yeoman smile pleasantly. "Of course, Commander, I'll inform Commander Savette of your arrival." As she rose from the desk and disappeared into the back offices.
Isabelle smiled as the yeoman told her Alec was waiting to see her. “Send him in please.”
Nodding the yeoman headed back out to Alec. “The Counsellor will see you now Commander.”
"Thank you." Alec replied as he headed for Isabelle's office. He stopped in the doorway and smiled brilliantly at her. "Hi." He said simply before adding, "Thanks for seeing me, Isabelle."
“For you, anytime” Isabelle motioned for Alec to sit down. “Is that...” She motioned to his collar. “Congratulations Commander!”
Alec moved to the vacant chair and sat down, He blushed as Isabelle noticed and pointed out his new rank. His hand going to his collar and touching the pips there. "Thanks Isabelle. That's part of what I wanted to talk to you about. Captain told me you stepped away from being Executive Officer." He paused for a moment and then looked directly at her. "He offered me the position ....and I accepted. You aren't mad, are you? This doesn't affect our relationship, does it?" It was clear from Alec's tone and the look on his face he was worried about losing Isabelle and that was unthinkable.
“Mad? Why would I be mad?” Isabelle gave Alec a curious look. “You’re the right person for the job, and I’m very happy for you.”
Alec breathed a sigh of relief. " Thanks again Isabelle. Well, for one thing you were the XO before me." He explained. "You are fine with this? It doesn't affect our relationship?"
“Of course it doesn’t” Isabelle smiled warmly. “I stepped down from my role as XO, I wasn’t ready for it. I think you will make a wonderful XO Alec.”
Alec gave a grateful nod. "Thanks Isabelle, I appreciate the vote of confidence. In fact..." He stood up and walked to where she was seated. He bent down and gently lifted Isabelle until she stood in front of him. The he kissed her, softly, gently with great love. His arms going around her slender waist. He held the kiss for a few seconds. When he broke the kiss he told her, "I've wanted to kiss you ever since I came aboard and found out you were here as well." He stated almost shyly.
Isabelle smiled as she wrapped her arms around Alec before returning his kiss with another. “I hope this won’t affect our working relationship Commander?” She grinned a wry grin.
Jon held Isabelle close as he kissed her again. Feeling Isabelle's soft, full lips under his. "I don't see how or why it would Commander." Alec said as his face broke into a wide smile. "We seem perfectly in sync, wouldn't you agree? And I plan on making sure we stay that way. You are the most important person in the world to me Isabelle."
“As you are to me Alec” Isabelle smiled warmly as she looked into Alec’s eyes. “As for being in sync, we most definitely are.”
Alec nodded and smiled at Isabelle's comment. "Wonderful, wonderful and we're going to stay that way Isabelle." He answered and continued on, "My door is always open to you Isabelle, any concerns or suggestions don't hesitate to bring them to my attention." His eyes twinkled as h said his next. "My door as executive officer is also always open to you."
“I’ll remember that Alec, I’m sure Captain Finchley is probably wondering how long it’ll be before we end up letting our feelings get in the way of our duties. I promise you I will be professional at all times.”
"Isabelle, you don't need to promise anything. I know you be the consummate professional when you are on duty." Alec replied. "Plus, as you've served with Captain Finchley longer, I'm sure he knows you will always be professional. If he has any doubts, they may be on me." Alec finished.
“I’m sure the Captain will come to realise that you’re a fine First Officer Alec, I have every faith in you.”
Alec raised his hand and gently caressed Isabelle's cheek. "Thank you, Isabelle. You always know the right thing to say." He replied and looked into her eyes. A heartbeat passed and then another before he said softly. "I love you, Isabelle." He said with utter conviction and absolute sincerity.
Isabelle couldn’t help but blush and give a bashful smile. “You have no idea how much I’ve wanted to hear you say that. I love you too Alec, I always have.”
Now it was Alec's turn to blush. "You make me very happy Isabelle. I have never been as happy as I am right now. Say, what do you think of moving in without giving up your quaters? What I mean is, bring some casual clothes to my Quarters and some uniforms, but still keep your quarters. What do you think?"
Isabelle offered a surprised yet curious look. “I think I like that idea, if it works out then we could make it a more permanent arrangement in the future.” She smiled warmly.
Alec beamed at Isabelle's answer. "I was hoping you would Isabelle and I am very, very happy to see that you do. In addition, I would love to make this arrangement more permanent. No question that I would."
Isabelle nodded. “In that case I’ll move over a few things at lunchtime, if you’re free then I’ll cook up something quick for us.”
Alec smiled broadly, "I'll make sure to be free to help you move what things you want to bring over. Having you cook is just an added bonus."
Isabelle smiled warmly. “Then I’ll be sure not to disappoint.”
"You never disappoint Isabelle. Never." Alec replied earnestly and with a warm, sincere smile.
